CPT Evelyn R. Epps was born 1 January, 1983 in Brooklyn, New York. She received her commission from Mercer University in Macon, GA on December 22, 2004. She also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and an Associates of Arts Degree in Criminology from Mercer University in 2004. CPT Evelyn Epps has earned her Master?s of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from University of Phoenix in June 2008. She is a graduated of the Signal Officer Basic Course. After graduating from the Signal Officer?s Basic Course at Fort Gordon in June 2005, her first assignment was with Bravo Company, 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, TX, where she served as the Mobile Subscriber Equipment Platoon Leader from July 2005 through February 2006 where the company deployed to New Orleans, Louisiana in support of Humanitarian Relief Efforts caused by Hurricane Katrina. She then was assigned as the Executive Officer for Bravo Company, 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion from February 2006 through February 2007 during the company?s transition from Mobile Subscriber Equipment to the new Joint Network Node Equipment and the company?s deployment with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team ?Black Jack?, 1st Cavalry Division to Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08. Her previous assignment was the Battalion Adjutant for 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division from February 2007 through the remainder of Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08.
